Nepal received Millennium Development Goal (MDG) Award for commitment and progress towards improving maternal health.


No new polio case has been discovered in Nepal since
2010 and the country was declared polio-free 
last year.

Health Programme

UNICEF Health Section supports government to ensure quality, gender-sensitive, and equitable maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health, as well as HIV prevention and treatment. At the same time, UNICEF promotes positive health behaviors for the survival and health of children and women.
