Nepal received Millennium Development Goal (MDG) Awards for commitment and progress towards improving maternal health.

Polio-free

No new polio case has been discovered for the last three years in Nepal and the country was declared polio-free this year.

Health Programme

UNICEF Health Section supports government to ensure quality, gender-sensitive, and equitable maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health, as well as HIV prevention and treatment. At the same time, UNICEF promotes positive health behaviors for the survival and health of children and women.
